What is Group Therapy?

Group therapy is facilitated by a therapist and consists of 6-8 people with mental health concerns.  It is 2 hours in length and runs for about 10-12weeks. During each weekly group, discussions take place to educate participants about their mental health and provide tools and exercises to help manage their symptoms. Home assignments are usually involved. This form of therapy is not individualized for each client and uses techniques that can manage symptoms in general. This is an affordable way to start therapy, however it is not unheard of that participants of group therapy also use individual therapy as well to fully help manage their symptoms.
