What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a complementary  health care practice based on science. It refers to the therapeutic application and skillful use of high quality essential oils, aromatic substances, and other plant based products by qualified aromatherapy practitioners. Essential oils are used to promote wellness by supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself.

What Aromatherapy is Not

It is NOT the use of synthetic perfumes/soaps, scented candles or plug in products, or potpourri.
It is NOT a one-size-fits-all solution to your problems.
It is NOT intended to replace standard medical care.

What is a Aromatherapist?

A Clinical aromatherapist is a holistic practitioner whom has completed a specific level of professional and formal education. As part of their education, they study subjects such as botany, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, blending techniques, safety, ethics, as well as a holistic framework.  We are not medical doctors diagnosing, treating, or prescribing prescriptions for diseases.

Why Would I See an Aromatherapist?

There are many reasons that people seek out professional aromatherapy services. People experiencing the following problems would benefit seeking the services of an Aromatherapist:
  • stress/anxiety
  • headaches
  • insomnia
  • musculoskeletal aches and pains
  • hormonal disturbances
  • respiratory concerns
  • pain
  • chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia
  • skin problems
  • sinus problems

What Can I Expect From a Holistic Aromatherapy Consultation?

A consultation begins with a brief introduction and a review basic guidelines, rights, and responsibilities. I will  assessment and review your health history with you from the forms that you have completed prior to the consultation. This would include things like allergies, acute and chronic health conditions, environmental factors, and lifestyle. Overall health goals and concerns will be discussed to create an overall health and wellness plan. Through education regarding safe practices with essential oils,  I will explore different essential oils and aroma preferences along with the most appropriate ways to administer the necessary blends . We will discuss the purity of the essential oils, and dosages and decide together as a team which administration methods will be most convenient for your lifestyle. If Aromatherapy is suggested as a means of administration, if you are local to me, will be provided to me, however if we are consulting via virtually then a massage can be either administered as a "home massage" by your self or partner or you may take your blend to an massage therapist locally

Are Aromatherapy Services Long Term?

Some issues are acute and may only require 1-2 visits. Other issues that are chronic may require several visits or ongoing support.

Adverse Affects

Although I make every effort to minimize any adverse reactions/and or allergies to the use of aromatherapy products, if you notice a problem stop use immediately and consult with your aromatherapist and health care providers.
